Stewardship is the mindset that Christ desires to place within the center of the lives of those who follow Christ. Stewardship is the driving awareness that we belong to God, and Jesus Christ has made this possible by entering this earth on a mission of love-He lived a holy life and died for our unholy dispositions. As a result, when we become forgiven by trusting Christ, we realize that we do not exist for our own benefit, we are temples in which the Spirit of Christ dwells and we now belong to His Kingdom and serve His purposes.
With this new awareness comes a new orientation to the proper value of our relationship with God, with others in our family, faith family and all of humanity. Also, we are enabled to maintain a right perspective on creation and on material possessions. As such we are able to be responsible and faithful and creative in our membership vows. We offer our lives in honoring God with:

prayers

-For God’s will to be accomplished, interceding for the spiritual and relational and material needs of others, and most of all we praise God and thank Him for His holy and loving character.

presence

-We show up-to worship with other Christ followers (after all the church is first and foremost the people redeemed by God rather than a building set apart for spiritual activities). We show up to serve, to love and to contribute to the Kingdom of God!

gifts

-Yes, stewardship does involve giving…It is all about giving! When we belong to God’s family, we begin the process of becoming like God and He is constantly giving of Himself, so we too give back-often and in many ways-offering our time, our talent and our treasure too! And we do it cheerfully, confident that our gifts are never wasted in God’s economy!!

service

-One of the finest aspects of stewardship is the freedom that comes as we offer ourselves to alleviate the sufferings of others. We are released from the self-centered, self-absorbed perspective that blinds us to the hurts around us. In humility we conquer pride, arrogance and greed. In service we become fulfilled in meeting God’s purposes too!

witness

-Nothing is quite so compelling as someone who witnesses to God’s transforming power by living distinctly for the good news of Jesus Christ. We proclaim not only justice, but mercy. And we add grace on to that Mercy as well. Our witness involves both a winsome lifestyle and a bold proclamation that God’s love found a way to restore our relationship with Christ and with one another.
