Quilting: January 2012 News

This past month the Sewing Group has made and gave the following:

Eight lap robes and three wheelchair bags for Bremen Health Care, Bremen
Seven lap robes and four wheelchair bags for Cardinal Health Care, South Bend
Three wheelchair bags for Ironwood Health Care, South Bend
Five baby blankets and five twin size blankets were given to the Salvation Army Office, South Bend, for Christmas needy baskets.
One blanket given in friendship to church family relative
Three blankets were sold
Women are custom quilting and rolling bandages for Third World Countries every Monday.
Thank your for the support the congregation has given us this past year.

Our scraps of fabric, batting and sewing notions are donated to Busy Hands of Michiana. They are recycled to make specialty therapeutic and comforting gifts for the community. They are given to those in need at no fee.

Our Mission was started in June, 1993.  We have given in Christian friendship:

7,492 Blankets
1,041 Stuffed Animals
558 Wheelchair Bags
440 Crochet Hats
103 girl's sundresses for a mission in Mexico

Numerous special projects have been made for the church and church friends.

We appreciate the donations we have received and the support that the church has given us. If you can cut material blocks, enjoy quilting or tie a yarn knot come and join us on Mondays.

We also need people to sew quilt tops at home. There are kits in twin and lap robes sizes in the church sewing cupboard.

Women are custom quilting every Monday to support our mission.  They have custom quilted 105 quilts.
